Vida is a Whippet who was born on June 6, 2021. She joined her family in the fall of 2021, and it could be said that she chose them rather than they chose her. When they met the puppies, Vida immediately came over to the Holt family and cuddled next to them. The adoration from both sides was apparent right away.

It wasn’t long before Vida was old enough to go attend Doggy Daycare and Spa. She truly enjoys the attention she receives from the humans as well as playing with all her doggy friends. She gets a bit anxious when left alone, so spending time at Daycare works perfectly for everyone in the Holt family. If Vida isn’t playing tag with her friends, she can be found cuddling on a cot with her best buds, Holly, Molly, and Lovey.

When she’s not at Daycare, Vida enjoys spending time at home sleeping, eating, and cuddling. If she can’t find someone to cuddle next to, Vida will find a sunny spot to lay and bask in. While Vida loves everyone she meets, her family are her favorite people… and her Dad is her best playmate. Fetch and tug-of-war are equally enjoyed in her play sessions where her red donut and fuzzy squirrel toy are the chosen toys.

If you haven’t already guessed, Vida is the true definition of a cuddle-bug. Her best “trick” is finding ways to squeeze herself onto everyone’s laps, regardless of what they are doing, or more truthfully, trying to do.

But sleeping and cuddling aren’t Vida’s only talents. She also gets a regular case of the zoomies where she will do crazy spins, jumps, and makes interesting vocalizations. While she rarely barks, these noises are her way of talking!

While Vida finds the snow during winter fun to romp in, her favorite season is summer when she can warm herself in the sun. She is looking forward to Thanksgiving when she will get attention from so many different people who all want to hold and pet her.

Vida means “life” in Spanish and her name was chosen for her because she is so vivacious and full of life. We think it is the perfect fit!
