Miggy is a fluffy, goofy, loveable English Cream Golden Retriever who joined his family in April 2024 when his original adopters were no longer able to care for him in the way he deserved. Miggy was an instant compliment to his new family and absolutely loves his 2 human siblings as well as his older dog brother, Marshall.

When Miggy joined his family, his name was also Marshall. Having 2 Marshalls running around wasn’t going to work, so they renamed him Miggy – after the Detroit Tigers player Miguel Cabrera – but he is officially Miguel Barkrera. While it took some time, Miggy now answers to his name, but will often respond when his dog brother is called!

In July 2025, Miggy started attending Doggy Daycare and Spa with his big brother Marshall who was already a Hip Hound. He absolutely loves Daycare days and knows what day of the week is HIS DAY to go! He sits by the door and waits until it is time to leave. As soon as he arrives, he is crying with excitement and cannot wait to get into the building. And his human parents appreciate the 2 days of sleep that follows.

At Doggy Daycare and Spa, Miggy is a Social Butterfly. He loves to be every dog’s new friend. He spends his days as an aquatic explorer splashing in the pools and sprinkler and shows off his WWE Superstar skills wrestling with his big brother Marshall and his best pals Kenobi, Molly, Doug, Bailey, and Bodhi. If we gave out an award for Congeniality, Miggy would be the winner for sure!

Miggy doesn’t really play with toys… he prefers to hold a stuffie in his mouth like most typical goldens and then destroys them within minutes. His big brother Marshall seems to be his favorite to play with out of any toys!

As a lover of all children, Miggy is especially looking forward to Halloween this year when kids of all shapes and sizes will visit his home for Trick-or-Treating. In Miggy’s mind, they are exclusively there to see him provide him with lots of pets and scratches.

Miggy’s family feels very fortunate to have Miggy in their lives. He stole their hearts the moment he came into their home. They will tell you, if you are on the fence about getting a dog (or a second dog), GO FOR IT! You might just be lucky enough to get a Miggy for yourself!
