About Quicklinks

Max is a Chocolate Labrador Retriever who was born on December 7, 2020. His “dad” was looking to add a four-legged friend to the family and drove to Alpena, Michigan in search of the perfect one! When he met with the breeder and saw Max, the search was over!
About a year later, Max joined the “pack” at the Lansing location of Doggy Daycare and Spa. Coming to daycare has provided Max with the important socialization and exercise that he needs in a fun, safe environment. When he hears that he is going to “school”, Max knows that he is about to go see all this friends and excitedly runs to get in the car.
When he isn’t at Doggy Daycare and Spa, Max loves to spend time outside whether at home or at the beach. There is nothing he loves more than chasing after floating toys, playing fetch with balls in the yard or going for long walks throughout the neighborhood no matter the weather. Rain, snow or shine, Max loves his walks!
Max frequently goes camping with his “dad” in the summertime and goes swimming on the beaches of Northern Michigan, drying off by the campfire and getting to go hiking through the wooded trails.
Max is no exception when it comes to him having a favorite toy. His two absolute favorite toys are his Jolly ball that is used for when they play fetch outside and his stuff salmon squeak toy for when he is playing inside.
Max is a very talented dog and knows quite a few commands. He is happy to sit, lay down, shake, spin, come, up, wait, “sing” (howl) to music, “touch” to come to your hand and touch the 2 fingers you’re holding up, “side” for moving to your right side while walking. Another thing is that Max can have quite a springy step! When he’s excited, he tends to jump vertically several feet in the air like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh!
Max started singing along to certain pop and country songs as a puppy and will break out in full, repeated howling if one his favorite song comes on. His love of singing started on road trips with his dad as a puppy. Two of his favorite songs to sing is “Heat Waves by Glass Animals” and “Good Things Fall Apart” by Illenium. Max can recognize the chorus and sings that part very intensely.
Once it’s warm enough to swim, Max can’t wait to go to the beach! The pools, yard hose and lawn sprinklers at Doggy Daycare and Spa works for the days he can’t make it to the beach!
