Maui is a beautiful silver lab who was born on May 17, 2019 in Ohio. Her parents started discussing getting a puppy and agreed that they would on their two-year dating anniversary. Less than 24 hours later, Maui was committed to joining the Triemstra family.

As the only dog in the family, Maui would get restless at home alone, so regular daycare attendance at Doggy Daycare and Spa was the perfect solution. Maui gets to hang out and play with her canine friends and run off pent up energy.

Outside is a favorite of Maui’s. She loves to run through the woods, jump in snowbanks, and swim in the lake. The only thing she might like more than outside is eating… she is a lab after all!
When she was a puppy, Maui received a toy whale as a gift. She loves to

hold and shake the whale. She also enjoys presenting it and sharing it with her human friends. Sharing is always nice! Unfortunately, Maui’s whale has had to be “replaced” 3 times due to critical injuries… she is now on her version number 4.

Being a lab, Maui is relatively easy to train, and her favorite trick is “High Five.” However, when she is giving a high five, she sometimes misses and actually hits the human… her parents would like to think she’s sorry for doing this, but they actually believe it’s part of the fun for her. Along with “High Five”, Maui can find hidden treats, wait until released, sit, lay down, and trade toys. What a smart girl!

During the summer months, Maui turns into a boat dog. She loves going on vacation at Hamilton Lake where she spends time on a pontoon boat or swimming in Lake Michigan. If the boat is anchored, she isn’t happy just hanging out. She will actually jump off the side of the boat into the water. When the boat is in motion, she takes on the duties of “First Mate” and rarely leaves the side of the captain’s chair.

Ever since she was a puppy, Maui’s favorite place to be rubbed is her chest. If you are petting her and your hand is not on her chest, she will reach up with her paws and push your hand to the “right place” to ensure she gets her chest rubs. What a funny girl!
