Maddie is a beautiful brindle Boxer who was born on August 9, 2015 and waited patiently to meet her new parents at Michigan Animal Rescue League when she was just a wee pup. Her family arrived to meet the new litter, and Maddie popped her head right up to look at her new visitors… it was love at first sight!

The rescue had already given Maddie her name and at just 13 weeks, she was already responsive to it, so she has always officially been Maddie.  Her family did add her adorable middle name and often refer to her as Maddie May.

Because Maddie was a rescue and not from a breeder, her long tail with the cute white tip that matches her white “socks” remained intact. Boxers are born with a tail that is typically docked shortly after birth, although leaving the tail natural is becoming more common.

When she was nearly 3 years old, Maddie began attending daycare at Doggy Daycare and Spa. Her family loves that she gets to hang out with all the other Hip Hounds and burn off some energy! Because Maddie attends daycare regularly, sleepovers at Doggy Daycare and Spa are no big deal because she knows the facility, the routines, the other dogs, and the team who takes care of her.

Maddie loves to play with her best friends Chloe, Daisy, and Callie at daycare.  Together they enjoy taking a dip in the pool, sunbathing, and afternoon naps. While she doesn’t wrestle as much as she did in her younger days, Maddie will still partake in playing with her buddies!

Maddie’s favorite toy is her “hideaway” plushie.  She will pull all of the toys out of their “home” and bring the shell to have the toys stuffed back inside. She also loves ice cubes as treats.  Due to her sensitive stomach, they are the only treat she knows and she doesn’t care because they are fun to crunch.

Whether at daycare or at home, Maddie can often be found soaking in the Vitamin D in the sunshine. Summer is definitely her favorite and while she is sad camping season is over, she does plan to enjoy some nature walks in the cooler weather and watch the leaves turn.
