Lakota is a handsome Bernedoodle who was born on November 23, 2020. His human parents discussed getting a dog for TWELVE years before finally deciding on adding Lakota to their family, and Lakota was certainly worth the wait!

In August of 2021, Lakota enrolled in Doggy Daycare and Spa where he met his best daycare pal, Rooney. Along with hanging out with the other hip hounds, Lakota also enjoys helping his teachers with new dog evaluations to see if he approves.

His parents enjoy being able to take Lakota to play for the day while they work from home. Not only do they get the peace and quiet of having him gone for the day, but they also enjoy bringing home a tired Lakota for the evening.

Along with regular Daycare attendance at Doggy Daycare and Spa, Lakota also enjoys regular grooming appointments where he is bathed, blow-dried, brushed, and clipped, keeping his beautiful coat in pristine condition. Also, spending the night away from “Mom and Dad” is no big deal when it is at Doggy Daycare and Spa. Having lots of play-time, the freedom to simply
hang out, and being surrounded by dogs and people he is comfortable with makes sleepovers fun.

If given the opportunity, Lakota would run at full speed for hours. He loves to run in the woods at Lake Lansing Park or on the beach at Lake Michigan. In fact, Lake Michigan is likely his favorite place in the whole world. He has an absolute blast playing in the water and bobbing for or fetching his favorite ball. And while Lakota does love to fetch his ball, he hasn’t quite mastered giving it back to be thrown again.

While he loves Lake Michigan, he especially loves vacationing at the beach in Pentwater, Michigan. He is always an attraction while he parades along the beach walkway, and being a sucker for attention, Lakota is always pleased to gain the gaze of admiring passers-by.

Although Lakota is sad that summer is coming to an end, and therefore beach time, he also enjoys romping through the deep woods and crunching through the colorful leaves. He is also looking forward to the annual Halloween costume contest at Doggy Daycare and Spa. We wonder what Lakota will be this year!
