About Quicklinks
Kappy is a mixed breed dog who was born on July 10, 2015. He was adopted by his mom, Makenzy, when she was finishing up her freshman year of college. She saw an ad on Facebook for an 8-month-old puppy who needed a home… and it was love a t first sight. Kappy was picked up by his Makenzy shortly after and they have been best friends ever since.
Kappy’s name was “Kapone” when he was adopted. After much consideration, it was agreed that “Kapone” was entirely too serious for such a fun-loving, goofball of a pup with perm-a-grin, so they decided to shorten it to Kappy… and it fits perfectly.
In the spring of 2020, Kappy began attending Doggy Daycare and Spa regularly. He absolutely loves going to work with his mom (she is a manager at Doggy Daycare and Spa). He loves to play and socialize even in his old age. The activity helps keep his mind and body young! Sleepovers are easy for him because he has friends (both human and canine) and Makenzy knows that he is well taken care of. His standing Spa appointments also keep his coat healthy, clean, and fluffy!
When he’s not joining his mom at work, Kappy spends his time napping, playing with his brother and sister (Roswell and Margo, respectively), or snuggling with his humans. He also loves sitting on the balcony of his home and watching the birds.
Anyone who meets Kappy knows immediately that he is not only a good boy, but also a smart one. He can high five and spin around on command. He will also balance a treat on his nose and wait to eat it until told he can!
Kappy’s favorite season is summer because it means he gets to be outside all the time. He is very adventurous and loves to camp, hike, and even hammock with his humans. Summer also means he gets to go on his annual vacation to Ludington for the 4th of July where he gets to visit with his favorite humans and spend lots of time at the beach!
For many years, Kappy was thought to be a Rottweiler mix. After conducting a DNA test recently, they found out his top breed is actually Husky, and he doesn’t have any Rottweiler in him at all! His best friends at Daycare are Luna and Maisy who are both Huskies. He must have known all along!
