Groot is a German Shorthaired Pointer who was born on November 28, 2020.  This dimple-nosed boy joined his family as a wee puppy in January of 202, and if you haven’t already guessed, got his name from the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, his dad’s favorite!

Being a GSP, Groot is naturally drawn to birds and wildlife.  His favorite toy is a stuffed pheasant, and he is known to point all the live pheasants and squirrels he sees.

Groot began attending Daycare at Doggy Daycare and Spa in May 2022.  He is an extremely active and energetic guy and regular attendance gives him the opportunity to play with his dog-friends and burn some energy.  His dad loves that he comes home happy and tired… and it even extends through the next day!

At home, Groot likes to show off his smarts by excelling at sitting and staying.  He also enjoys the occasional paddle board ride.  During the holidays one year, Groot proved himself to be opportunistic as he ate 45 pickle and ham roll ups off the kitchen counter after being left for a mere 2 minutes.  Now that is talent!

This spring, Groot is looking forward to spending more time outside.  He loves going on walks and checking out the wildlife.  He will bite at any bug that flies near him (hopefully not the “spicy” ones), and enjoys spending time at his grandparents’ house where he plays with his best friend, Gracie.

While spring is fun, Groot’s favorite season is summer.  Play time outside in the sprinkler and chasing bubbles are some of his favorite activities.

If Groot could talk, he would tell us to “EAT MORE CHEESE!”  We couldn’t agree more, Groot!
