Tucker was adopted when he was a wee pup by his family on February 3, 2021 from a rescue organization in Muskegon, Michigan. His profile with the rescue claimed that he was a doodle mix whose parents were both 40 lbs.  Imagine his family’s surprise when he grew into a 90lb cattle dog mix! Tucker is the true definition of “mixed breed!” His DNA test listed him as Bulldog, Australian Cattle dog, Catahoula Leopard dog, Vizsla, and Greyhound.  No doodle to be found!

Tucker began attending daycare in May 2021. He absolutely thrives from the exercise and socialization he receives hanging out with his favorite pals. When he goes home, he is happily tired. A favorite game of the family is speaking for him after asking how his day was.  He clearly has a lot to say about who he played with and the adventures he had!

Doggy Daycare and Spa has not only been an amazing for Tucker’s energy and social life, but for his family’s peace of mind. They know he is being cared for and showered with love. Another favorite is the “daycare hangover” the next day which extends the quiet time around the house (see his DNA make up 😊)

Not only does Tucker attend daycare regularly, but he also enjoys overnight boarding stays when his family travels and regular visits to the Spa. Short-coated breeds like Tucker benefit from regular grooming because it keeps shedding under control, his coat healthy and shiny, his nails short, and ears clean.

When he’s not hanging out with the Hip Hounds, Tucker can be found taking walks in the township park, streets, and neighborhoods of the town in which he lives.  Naps under his mom’s desk while she works or relaxing on the couch are also a couple of his favorite past times. In fact, he absolutely loves “couch time” where he snuggles on the couch with his family while they read books or watch tv after dinner.

Being extremely food motivated, it was important to teach Tucker some manners when it came to dinner time. He would be so excited to eat, he would often trip his mom when she filled his bowl. He is now successfully trained to sit and wait politely until his dinner is ready and he is told “Ok!”

Thanksgiving is Tucker’s favorite holiday! The house smells amazing and the family is all together and include yearly trips to Iowa where he gets to play with his two Airedale cousins. Together they go on long hikes in the woods and enjoy plenty of family time. We think the turkey is great too, Tucker!

Happy Thanksgiving!
